That makes PUBG Mobile one of the most downloaded mobile games in the world. Data analytics company Sensory Tower estimates that only Subway Surfers from Kiloo Games and Candy Crush Saga from King Digital Entertainment have been downloaded more often.

Tencent reports that its revenue from the current quarter’s online games is up 29 percent. PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings are the main reason for that.

In 2019, Tencent had to withdraw the mobile version of PUBG from stores because the Chinese government did not approve for the game’s earnings model. Therefore, the game was adapted with pro-Chinese propaganda and re- released under the name Game for Peace.
