Tonight’s State of Play broadcast announced a PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The PS5 version is called Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and it includes new content in the form of a new episode. This episode revolves around the character Yuffie. This was an optional party member that was not included in the final version of the game. She goes through her own story during the events of the main game.

The PS5 version of the game features improved textures, lighting effects and ray tracing. In addition, there is a mode that maintains a constant frame rate of 60 fps. The haptic feedback in the DualSense controller is also used.

People who already own the PS4 version can download an update for free on PS5 unlocking the enhanced graphics and effects. After that one can buy the new episode around Yuffie – the costs are not yet known. Save files of the PS4 version can be transferred. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be released on June 10 – a physical version will also be released.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released on PlayStation 4 last year and is a remake of the first part of Square Enix’s classic RPG. It is not yet known when the follow-up parts will be released.
