Portuguese driver improves pace on the second day of testing

Miguel Oliveira finished the first two days of pre-testing – MotoGP season at the Losail Circuit, in Qatar, with the 11th time in the pack. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) was the fastest of this first two days having left the Portuguese KTM rider just over 7 tenths of a second.

Falcão improved the progress in relation to the morning (afternoon in Doha) of the day before in the respective session of this Sunday, but that time was not even superior to that of the second session of Saturday.

This morning, Oliveira drove on the Losail track in 1´55.274, making the then seventh best time of the first part of the works dominated by the Honda riders – Stefan Bradl was the faster with 1´54.658s – and for the introduction of some elements in the bikes – like the ‘holeshot’ – by the teams.

In the second part (afternoon / evening in the Qatar) the session was the absolute fastest in these first two days, with Quartararo making his best lap in 1´53.940s. Jac Miller (Ducati) closely followed the Frenchman’s time by not losing more than 77 milliseconds.

The first 13 were within a window of less than 8 tenths of a second for Quartataro – the 14th has already exceeded 1 second – with Miguel Oliveira, as mentioned, losing 0.726s after his best lap ( the 35th of 47 that ran) in 1´54.666s.

Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), the fastest of the day before took the third fastest time of these two days, while the World champion Joan Mir (Suzuki) took eighth. Valentino Rossi took the 20th time (at 1m768s) after his debut with SRT Yamaha.
