After all this year, the Red Bull Ring, in Austria, will receive an extra Formula 1 Grand Prix, replacing the F1 GP of Turkey

Lewis Hamilton may no longer return in 2021 to the track that enshrined him as seven times Formula 1 champion ( record this victory here ) at last November’s race.

The Istanbul Park circuit, after being excluded from the calendar beginning of season , had been announced in mid-April as a replacement for the Canadian Grand Prix, which was due to take place on June 13.

However, due to the recent travel restrictions and limitations imposed or replaced by several countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Turkish circuit is now being relegated outside the 2021 calendar.

It is not yet certain that the FIA does not try to find a date for the end of the calendar that can vol to put Turkey in the F1 circus, but it was decided that Austria will receive a double journey: the Grand Prix of Syria on 27 June and the Grand Prix of Austria on 4 July. In this way, and despite the official designation, the Red Bull Ring receives, for the second consecutive year, two major Formula 1 prizes.

In addition to this, the FIA also announced, in a statement, that the French GP will be brought forward by one week, to June 20.
