Embracer Group plans more acquisitions

Embracer Group, parent company of THQ Nordic and Koch Media, among others, plans to acquire more studios after an investment round. Games Industry reports that.

Embracer Group plans 36 million to sell shares of about 20.68 euros each, yielding more than 748 million euros. The company would like to further strengthen the company’s ‘financial position’ by acquiring more publishers, studios and ‘resources’.

The Swedish company may mean more IPs by the latter. In the meantime, Embracer Group is investigating ‘several close takeover candidates’. It is not known which publishers and studios Embracer has in mind.

Embracer Group acquired a large number of companies in recent years. It currently owns Gearbox Entertainment, Saber Interactive, Koch Media and THQ Nordic, among others.
