As for Volkov (31-7), the former Bellator champion would be undefeated in the UFC if not for his last-second knockout loss to Derrick Lewis in 2018. Since that setback, Volkov bounced back with a decision victory over up-and-comer Greg Hardy. With both men having very different skill sets, look for Blaydes to get the fight to the ground, while Volkov will look to utilize his long reach and stature to keep Blaydes at a comfortable range.

The co-main event of the evening will feature two top-10 featherweights who are looking to inch closer to a top-5 matchup in the near future. No. 8 Josh Emmett is coming into fight night riding a two-fight winning streak with finishes over Michael Johnson and Mirsad Bektic. Across the Octagon from Emmett will be No. 10 Shane Burgos, fresh off his knockout victory over Makwan Amirkhani at UFC 244. Both with striking-heavy arsenals, this should be a gritty standup battle before the main event.
