He makes this known through his online diary. “We have a large-scale recording session in April and the music scores are spread throughout the studio. It has been a while since we recorded with a three-person band, so the amount of instruments is quite large.”
Mitsuda may be recording music for a new game from Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft. The studio, which is now part of Nintendo, seems to be working on a new game for quite some time. Earlier it already shared artwork for this as yet unannounced title.
Monolith also helps Nintendo design game worlds from time to time. For example, the studio assisted Nintendo during the development of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
In addition to the Xenoblade games, Mitsuda has also made music for various games such as Soul Sacrifice, Bomberman 64: The Second Attack, Mario Party, Another Eden and Valkyria Revolution. Mitsuda is also working on The Messenger developer Sabotage Studio’s Sea of Stars in 2022 – it could also be music for that game.
