Virginia: Ku Klux Klan ‘leader’ drove into Black Lives Matter protesters, prosecutors say
A guy implicated of driving his car into a group of Black Lives Matter protesters in the United States state of Virginia is a regional leader of the Ku Klux Klan, prosecutors say.
Harry H Rogers, 36, was charged with attack and battery for the occurrence on Sunday, Henrico County cops department stated.
He presumably drove through a crowd of people obstructing a street in Richmond, Virginia, who were quietly objecting the death of George Floyd – a black American who passed away in Minneapolis cops custody on 25 May.
A single person was struck by Rogers’ vehicle, however not seriously hurt.
Rogers was “driving recklessly” in the area of the demonstration and “revved the engine” prior to tilling into the group with his pickup truck, district attorney Shannon Taylor stated.
Ms Taylor stated authorities are thinking about whether hate criminal activity charges must be submitted versus Rogers, an “admitted” Ku Klux Klan leader, including that examination of his social media profiles exposed he is a “propagandist for Confederate ideology”.
Archive video of Rogers from previous years using KKK bathrobes and waving a Confederate flag was aired by the Richmond CBS TELEVISION affiliate WTVR.

Rogers appeared in Henrico court on the borders of Richmond on Monday and is due back in court in August.
In a different occurrence on Sunday night, a guy was charged with attack for shooting a demonstrator in Seattle after he drove his car as much as a march.

The guy, called as Nikolas Fernandez, was caught by an onlooker’s video shooting a protester who had actually reached into his car.
The protester was shot in the arm and dealt with in medical facility. Fernandez is currently in custody.
