Two sports models with muscle to know what has the best performance, see how it runs

The test intends find out which of the two models has the best performance: whether the new Toyota GR Yaris, or the special edition of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen, then models that the Finnish driver helped to develop.

The «Carwow» team, with Mat Watson at the wheel of the Toyota Yaris, took both models to the track and confronted them in a drag race, in a launched race and in a braking test.

The Toyota GR Yaris, developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing, has a 1.6-liter turbo three-cylinder block, with 261 hp of power and 360 Nm of torque, being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km / h, for a weight of 1,280 kg.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen, with the well-known au trainer British mobile phones, Yianni Charalambous behind the wheel, has a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine that produces 276 hp and 373Nm torque, for a weight of 1,300 kg.

It remains to be seen whether the new Toyota GR Yaris is capable of beating the old Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen.

As it turned out, the race mile drag race was quite balanced with the two models doing the same time, 12.5 seconds, but in the ‘photo finish’ it is possible to verify that Yaris GR beat Lancer by very little.

In a variant of the race launched, in third speed, the Yaris GR makes a better start, but the Lancer EVO VI recovered and ended up winning.

In the braking test at about 110 km / h, the Toyota Yaris GR ended up beating the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen, d everything was tied.
