Three sports models with similar engines in a competition to get to know the fastest

There are three German models equipped with powerful V8 blocks: BMW M5 Competition, Audi RS 6 and the Mercedes-AMG E63 S.

To get to know the fastest of these three powerful models, the «Carwow» , tried to put them on track side by side.

The Audi RS6, with Mat Watson at the wheel, is equipped with a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine, capable of delivering 600 horsepower and a torque of 800 Nm.

With a weight of 2,050 kg, it is equipped with an eight-speed gearbox and has all-wheel drive.

The BMW M5, on the other hand, is equipped with a 4.4 liter V8 engine with 625 hp of power, a torque of 750 Nm, an eight-speed automatic gearbox and full traction, for a weight of 1,940 Kg.

For its Mercedes-AMG E63 S, it is equipped with a 4.0 liter V8 engine s, with 612 hp of power and a torque of 850Nm.

This AMG version is equipped with a nine-speed gearbox, has all-wheel drive and a weight of 1,990 kg.

It remains to be seen whether the difference between the three models can make a difference in this challenge to get to know the fastest one.

As it turned out, the ‘drag race’ and despite the wet conditions and after three attempts, the Audi RS6 was even the fastest when it covered the ¼ mile in 11.6 seconds, while the Mercedes-AMG E63 S with 12.3 seconds, he finished in front of the BMW M5, which held 12.4 seconds.

In the first race launched at 80 km / h in comfortable driving mode, the story was different, with the Mercedes-AMG E63 S showing all its power, with the BMW M5 to be second and the Audi RS6 to finish in third position.

When the driving mode changed to sporty, the fight got tighter between the Mercedes-AMG E63 S and the BMW M5, with the AMG taking the upper hand, finishing in front of the BMW and Audi RS6.

In the brake test, the Mercedes-AMG E63 S, again showed all its capabilities, beating the Audi RS6 and BMW M5.
