July 2 significant Invicta FC 40, the return of Invicta FC after about 4 months without an event, however things did not precisely go efficiently right from the start for the MMA promotion, thanks to a blackout quite early on into the card.
As of press time, Invicta FC 40 is currently ongoing at the Police Athletic League of Kansas City, KS. The card is Invicta FC’s first since February 7, though there are no fans or outside media in attendance as a result of coronavirus and social distancing measures.
Play-by-play commentator TJ Desantis and color commentators Julie Kedzie and Laura Sanko had just greeted fans watching at home and hyped up the main event of Emily Ducote vs. Juliana Lima and the co-main event of Alesha Zappitella vs. Lindsey VanZandt.
Invicta FC 40 opened with Genia Goodin taking on Shelby Koren, and both women had made their ways into the cage and the Tale of the Tape graphic had just displayed on home viewers’ screens, as Joe Martinez was set to do ring introductions.
But as this happened, viewers’ screens cut to black and the power in the PAL went out. As it turns out, according to Invicta, the electrical generator for the building overheated and was down for approximately 10 minutes.

Audiences at home were welcomed to a looping ad for UFC Battle Pass and itsshows According to Sanko, both fighters stayed in the cage and even traded verbally.
