Kattar came into this bout off a highlight second-round finish of Jeremy Stephens at UFC 249; it was his fifth win in seven UFC bouts. Kattar started his time in the UFC with wins over Andre Fili and Shane Burgos before losing to Renato Moicano. He then defeated Chris Fishgold and Ricardo Lamas before losing to Zabit Magomedsharipov.
Ige broke into the UFC with a submission of Luis Gomez on Dana White’s Contender Series. While he dropped his UFC debut to Julio Arce at UFC 220, Ige entered tonight on a six-fight win streak, though his most recent fight prior to tonight, coming against Edson Barboza on the May 16 UFC Jacksonville card, saw Ige win via a controversial split decision.

Good fight, it was like a chess match just like Volkanovski vs Holloway fights. A little bit slow, but Kattar looked dominant.

With this triumph, Kattar definitely will discover himself in the leading 5 of the featherweight rankings next week, and he might possibly be one battle far from discovering himself difficult champ Alexander Volkanovski.
