The Toyota bZ4X concept will be the basis of Subaru’s first electric vehicle as early as 2022.

Solterra is a fusion of the Latin words Sol and Terra, in a clear intention to express the commitment and the concern with combating emissions, and, it was the way found by the Japanese brand Subaru to name, and thus draw attention, its first electric SUV that is expected to arrive in Europe in 2022.

Subaru Solterra shares the platform of the prototype recently introduced by Toyota, the bZ4X, whose acronym refers to “beyond zero” in addition to zero emissions. In fact, this sharing is not new and has recently been reinforced with a broader technical agreement.

The EV platform called e-TNGA Toyota will also be used in at least six more electric models in the coming years, in addition to this now announced partnership.

For now, more details are not revealed yet and the images were purposely darkened so as not to show more than desired.
