RAWALPINDI: One soldier welcomed martyrdom while 5 terrorists were killed in an attack on a checkpoint in North Waziristan tribal district late Saturday night, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

According to the regional authorities, unknown people assaulted the Boya check-post with heavy weapons. In the exchange of fire, Havaldar Akbar lost his life.

3 soldiers got injuries, based on the ISPR news release. The injured soldiers have actually been determined as Saeed, Yasir and Shafqat.

The authorities stated the security personnel struck back after the attack.

Following the attack, the location was cordoned off and a search operation was carried out.
