It’s starting, accelerating and then braking before you reach the wall …
The Porsche Taycan continues its record-breaking promotional tour and, this time, it has made a mark that even now appears in Guinness.
And what did the German brand’s electric GT do this time? He broke the speed record achieved inside a closed building.
Leh Keen was the usual driver who has been breaking records with a performance electric seat once again behind the wheel of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, with 760 hp and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds.
The stage was the New Orleans Congress Center, which has the largest showroom in the US.
The Guinness record for indoor speed – accelerating and stopping inside a building – has now been set at 165.1 km / h.
“I did pause at the start, knowing that I would have to go as fast as I could and then stop again, all before reaching the approaching wall. It caught my attention. I used the car’s launch control and Taycan grabbed it – the feeling of ‘indoor’ speed, even in such a large space, is huge – the wall came quickly. I was docile with the brakes at the end – Taycan’s brakes were more than up to the job, ”said Keen.
It remains to be noted that the previous record was at 138.4 km / h .
