The trailer was shown during a special live stream on the official Rune Factory YouTube channel. The short video is completely in Japanese and contains a lot of gameplay footage of the upcoming jrpg.

The game will be released in Japan in the spring of this year and in the West sometime during the year. Rune Factory 5 lets players control a male or female main character and explore a 3D world similar to Rune Factory Oceans. The combat system has been overhauled and players can perform combos.

Rune Factory is a spin-off of Bokujou Monogatari, a farming simulation known outside Japan as Story of Seasons. Rune Factory 1, 2 and 3 appeared on the DS and Rune Factory 4 on the 3DS. Several spin-offs have also appeared on Wii and PlayStation.
