Polestar 2 and Cupra Formentor are the first Euro NCAP '5 stars' of the year

Both models passed the new safety testing protocol with distinction

Polestar 2 and Cupra Formentor obtained the maximum 5-star score in the first Euro NCAP safety tests of 2021 under the new testing protocols of the European automobile safety program.

“In both occupant protections for adults and children, only one point separates the two cars. In pedestrian protection, Polestar, with an active hood, reaches an impressive 80%, while both cars behave well with autonomous braking and emergency systems in tests with vulnerable road users ” , spells out the Euro NCAP.

These were the percentages obtained in the tests that gave the 5-star verdict for both models with the standard equipment:

Polestar 2:

– adult occupants: 92%

– children occupants: 89%

– vulnerable road users: 80%

– security assistants: 86%

Cupra Provider:

– adult occupants: 93%

– child occupants: 88%

– vulnerable road users: 68%

– security assistants: 80%
