PM forms body to protect media industry

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday made up a five-member committee for the defense of media employees and the media industry.

The decision to form the committee was taken after the Pakistan Broadcasters Association composed a letter to the prime minister.

Senior assistants of the prime minister that include Firdous Ashiq Awan, Shahzad Akbar, and Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood are members of the committee.

The other 2 members of the committee consist of Shahbaz Gill and the federal info secretary.

The committee will be accountable to review the suggestions presented by the PBA and resolve the association’s problems.

PM Imran stated that media was playing an important role in the battle versus the coronavirus.

The prime minister stated that the federal government will do all it can to protect media employees and the industry.
