Yemeni media reported, on Thursday, that a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis fell on a residential neighborhood in the city of Marib, east of Yemen.

The “Belqis” satellite channel reported that the Houthis targeted the city with a ballistic missile, the second during 12 hours, while a local source said that the missile strikes coincided with the group’s attack on the fronts south of Ma’rib.

The “Aden Al-Ghad” newspaper and the “Yemen Monitor” website reported the Houthi missile attack. No information has yet been available about casualties or damages as a result of the attack.

The United Nations confirmed, on Thursday, that the military escalation in Marib has caused the displacement of thousands of Yemenis, while it warned of the transformation of a whistling tanker into a time bomb that threatens an environmental disaster.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of Yemen, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, said, Wednesday, that the attack of the “Ansar Allah” group on the Marib Governorate, northeastern Yemen, was broken before the Yemeni army forces affiliated with the legitimate government.

During his meeting in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, the Emirati Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan added that “the Houthis are meeting the international and American efforts to bring peace to Yemen with a military escalation in the Ma’rib governorate, and targeting civilian objects and camps refugees”.
