Covid-19 pandemic forced further changes to the motocross world calendar
The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) announced this Thursday the postponement to October 24, of the Portuguese stage of the 2021 motocross world championship, which will take place at the Casarão crossodrome in Águeda,
In a statement the federation explains that, “due to the covid-19 pandemic” , was forced to postpone the start of the 2021 edition of the Motocross World Championship (MXGP) to May 23, thus postponing the Oman GP to 2022 , initially scheduled for April 3.
The rounds of the Championship to be held in Italy, Portugal and Germany, originally scheduled for May and April, were postponed to October, with the German GP taking place on the 3rd, Portugal on the 24th and Italy on the 31st of October.
The Chinese Grand Prix went from 19 d and September to November 7, while the Argentine GP to November 21.
“The goal for the 2021 season is to get the audience back” , stresses the same note from the International Motorcycling Federation.
