Portuguese rider finished the first race of the season in 13th position

Miguel Oliveira this Sunday added the first points in the new MotoGP season, after finishing the Qatar GP opening race of the season, in 13th position, having been the best KTM driver.

Oliveira who he started from 15th position on the starting grid, was in the fight for the top 10, but ended up finishing the race in 13th position 11,457s from the winner, Maverick Viñales, due to the wear of the soft compound tire in front of his

“We finish a little bit ahead of where we started, which is positive and we know that our potential is much better. We were unable to be stronger because of the wear on the front tire ” , acknowledged Miguel Oliveira in a statement revealed by his team.

The KTM rider made it clear that from the middle of the race it was quite difficult to stay on top of the bike due to the lack of grip on the front tire.

“We lost a lot of grip before we reached the middle of the race, which compromised our performance and I started to waste time to avoid a fall. We feel that our bike is strong, but we are not able to be competitive throughout the race with this type of tires ” , he concluded Miguel Oliveira.
