Portuguese pilot took the day of tests to validate parts to be incorporated in the RC16.

Miguel Oliveira (KTM) completed the first of the last three days of MotoGP preseason testing, which takes place in Qatar, with the 12th fastest time, having achieved his best time of the tests carried out so far.

The Portuguese driver recorded a time of 1.54.526 minutes in the 50th of 58 laps made at the Losail track, finishing 1,343 seconds from the fastest, Australian Jack Miller (Ducati).

Oliveira improved his record in 140 milliseconds, on a day when the pilots tried to advance work, as a sandstorm is expected for Friday, last day of this second battery of pre-season tests.

Still, the Portuguese was once again the best of KTM riders, as South African Brad Binder suffered a fall and Oliveira took the day to validate parts to be incorporated in the RC16.

“It was another positive day, on what was the typical test day, when we tried many items to be able to ratify this year. We finished faster than in the first two days and our pace has improved “ , underlined Miguel Oliveira.

The Portuguese KTM driver highlighted the fact that he did better than in the first series of tests, although he is still not close to those at the front

“Obviously we hope to improve in the next two days, because at this moment we are not competitive enough to be close to the top “ , concluded Miguel Oliveira.

Record the MotoGP World Championship starts on March 28th, with the Qatar GP.
