Lyman Good gets emotional reflecting on father’s death ahead of UFC Vegas 3

Lyman Good has actually gone through a lot because his daddy’s death in early-June.

Lyman Good gets in Saturday’s UFC welterweight bout with Belal Muhammad bring a heaviness of heart. Initially set up to contend in May, Good’s training school had an abrupt disruption when he contracted COVID-19 and his daddy died. In spite of the hard times, Good continues to press forward and remain all set.

“It’s definitely been a long road, you know,” Good informed press reporters at the UFC’s virtual media day. “The other thing that likewise occurred, you understand a couple of weeks earlier, my daddy had actually died. It has actually been a rollercoaster flight, you understand. Mentally, physically, you understand on all levels. For me, you understand, one of the things we’re trained in as martial artists is to find out how to preserve the stability of your focus, simply remain [on] the course, no matter what takes place and remain the course. Since at the end of it, you’re gon na feel a lot much better about yourself understanding that you stayed with your course, trained hard, and you kept at it, you understand. Good wishes to defend his daddy and feels it would be an oppression not to.

Good thought about taking out once again however understood that he needed to combat in his daddy’s memory, no matter the scenarios. He mored than happy to have the Muhammad battle re-booked, offering him the chance to finish what he began.

“I’m sure on his end that he was excited about taking the fight as well,” Good stated. “We both were. This is a fight you know, that’s been expected to happen awhile ago. This definitely feels like something that we re-routed, and we went through a lot, you know, from the original time we were supposed to fight, and things happen for a reason. God put us on this path for a reason, and I knew I was meant to fight him on June 20. So I’m looking forward to it.”

Good gets in the battle at 21 -5, coming off a win versus Chance Rencountre at UFC 244.
