An audio clip in which Johnny Depp can apparently be heard groaning on a private jet has actually been played throughout his libel trial.

The recording was stated to have actually been taken on a flight to Los Angeles in 2014, throughout which Amber Heard declares he was inebriated and violent prior to he lost consciousness in the toilet.

Throughout the 18-second clip a lady’s voice can be heard stating “keep an eye on him”, while what noises like a guy makes long, low groans.

Attorneys for The Sun’s publisher, News Group Papers (NGN), state it is Depp making the groaning sounds.

Depp is taking legal action against NGN, and managing editor Dan Wootton, over a short article released in 2018 that identified him a “wife beater” – a claims he strenuously rejects.

At London’s High Court, the Pirates Of The Caribbean star would not verify the recording was of him however stated he might not keep in mind anybody else making that sound on the aircraft.

He explained the sound as sounding “like an animal in pain”, to which Sasha Wass QC reacted: “I think you are that animal.”

She asked Depp: “You had a blackout, didn’t you?”

The star responded: “I can’t say that I had a full blackout, because I have memories of the flight… some memories of the flight, yes.”

The star stated he might not remember “screaming obscenities” on the flight, however he stated there was an argument in between him and Heard.

Describing the clip, he stated: “I do not recognise that as my voice. It is something that I have heard once just today.”

When Ms Wass asked if he would like to hear it once again, he responded: “No, I’m fine, thank you very much.”

He then stated: “If it is me, then I was definitely dealing with a problem.”

The High Court heard that Depp apparently “screamed obscenities” at Heard on the flight to LA, as he implicated her of an affair with star James Franco.

Depp rejected assaulting her on the aircraft from Boston in May 2014, and stated claims that he screamed at her about “getting f*****” were “quite a stretch of her imagination”.

The so-called “Boston plane incident” is one of 14 declared occurrences of domestic violence, all rejected by Depp, relied on by News Group Papers (NGN) in their defence versus the star’s libel claim.
