Electrification strategy of the British brand is to achieve carbon neutrality in 2039
Jaguar announced this Monday fair that will let it start producing only 100% electric models from 2025.
Jaguar’s electrification strategy is part of the ‘Reimagine’ plan, which has the goal of bringing the British brand to reach carbon neutrality in 2039.
This way, Jaguar will develop a new ‘portfolio’, which leads the brand to suspend plans for the new generation of the top-of-the-range saloon, XJ, the combustion that was planned for this year.
In a statement, Jaguar made it clear that its strategy is to invest in models with an emotional look and equipped with reference technology.
Jaguar’s new electric models will feature a new specific platform, exclusive to the new 100% electric vehicles of the British brand.
According to Jaguar Land Rover estimates, in 2030, all ranges of the group will have a fully electric variant and at that time, the British manufacturer’s predictions point out that around 60% sales of their cars are purely electric models.
In the case of Land Rover, Thierry Bollore, CEO of the brand announced that the company will launch six hundred percent electric models in the next five years, with the first of these models coming arrive in 2024.

The new Land Rover models will be based on the MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) platform that allows combustion and electric vehicles, in addition to a twin platform EMA (Electric Modular Archirtecture), which can also “supporting advanced electrified combustion engines” .
Along with the new electrification plans for its brands, Jaguar Land Rover announced that it will continue to invest fuel cell technology, and that the first hydrogen-powered vehicle prototypes will hit the UK roads for testing in the next 12 months.
In addition, Jaguar Land Rover intends to place an end point on diesel engines by 2026.
