The Slovenian men’s basketball team, which has already secured a place in the final tournament, won the European Championship qualifier “bubble” in Ukraine on Thursday, but
Slovenia defeated Hungary in Group F in Kiev with 84:72 (23 : 15, 17:21, 25:22, 19:14). In the Slovenian team, Jaka Blažičs was the most productive with 24 points and six rebounds, while Zoltan Perls scored 16 points for the Hungarians. Slovenia has four successes in five matches, the Hungarians have won two of the three games, Ukraine has two victories in four battles, and Austria has lost in all four games. Russia has had two successes in four matches, Estonia has won three games in three games, but Northern Macedonia has lost in all three due games.
Qualifications The tournament is attended by 32 teams divided into eight groups. Out of the four groups in which the countries organizing the final tournament (Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy and Germany) play, the top two teams qualify for the final tournament, and from the other four – three each. The games take place in three national “windows” – in February and November 2020, as well as in February 2021.
The final tournament of the championship was moved from next year to 2022. The final tournament will take place next year from September 1 to 18 in four countries – the Czech Republic (Prague), Georgia (Tbilisi), Italy (Milan) and Germany (group tournament in Cologne, playoffs in Berlin). 24 teams will take part in it. In addition to the tournament hosts, Croatia, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Slovenia, Ukraine and Spain also provided travel tickets
