Hamilton extends contract with Mercedes
Titled First Formula (F-1) pilot Lewis Hamilton has extended his contract with his team for the 2021 season “Mercedes”, informs the unit. Hamilton became a Mercedes driver in 2013, replacing the German Michael Schumacher, but before that he spent six seasons with the McLaren team.
The British won their first title in 2008 as part of McLaren, but the next six trophies were won together with Mercedes from 2014 to 2020. For the last seven years, he has only given in to Niko Rosberg, who unexpectedly put an end to his career after winning the title in 2016.
This year, Hamilton can overtake Schumacher in the titles he won. He has already beaten the Germans in victories (95) and pole positions (98) and is likely to be the first pilot to reach the 100 mark
Hamilton, who recently celebrated his 36th anniversary, is blurred by the 2021 season and it is unknown whether he will continue his career on the Mercedes team. Hamilton was the last pilot to sign a contract for the upcoming season, which is scheduled to begin in Bahrain at the end of March.
