The sixth season of Halo: The Master Chief Collection went live tonight and introduces, among other things, a new multiplater map called Waterfall.

Waterfall is a snowy and icy map where players can pick up two different weapons, the silent SMG and the Brute plasma rifle.

The original plan of 343 Industries was to add two new maps to the game at the launch of season 6. In retrospect, however, only Waterfall was chosen. . Yet the chance of new maps is still there, according to the developer.

Earlier was already hinting at 343 Industries “a new way and place to play Halo”, and possibly that was a hint for the new map. In 2009 the last new maps for the game appeared in the form of the Mythic 2 Map Pack.
