Although Final Fantasy 7 Remake gets a PlayStation 5 update, the second part in the remake series really takes full advantage of the possibilities that the PlayStation 5 offers.

Director Tetsuya Nomura reports this in an interview with Famitsu. Last week, the PS5 upgrade for Final Fantasy 7 Remake was announced in the form of Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade. In addition, an extra chapter for the game will also be released on PS5.

In the interview, Nomura explains that the PS5 version of the game has already knows improvements. “The graphics, lighting and textures are the main improvements, but environmental effects such as fog have also been added to make the game even more realistic.”

He continues: “The adaptive triggers are also partially supported. But for a game that takes full advantage of all the features of the PlayStation 5, please wait for the next game, where we can incorporate this from the beginning.”

Final Fantasy 7 Remake contains only the first part of the original game. The rest of the game should be covered in upcoming parts. It is not known exactly when the second part will be published. It is also not clear whether the second part will still be released on PlayStation 4, although Nomura’s answer could indicate that it is only intended for the new game console.
