F1: Alpine makes its debut with the A521
Changes in the team that replaces Renault included drivers and management structure
Alpine is making its debut at the World Championship in This year’s Formula 1 took Renault’s place for a time when the French group undertook several modifications throughout its sporting structure related to the premier category of motorsport.
The official presentation in 2021 was made with the unveiling of the Alpine A512 with the single-seater displaying the colors blue, white and red not only evoking the brand’s tradition in motor sport, but also the flags of France and Great Britain ( where is the team’s headquarters).
The A521 is an evolution of the Renault RS20 of the season it spent in meeting the regulated changes to aerodynamics being equipped with the 1.6 V6 hybrid Renault E-Tech 20B engine.
The Alpine team F1 will make its debut with Fernando Alonso back in the competition and Esteban Ocon as pil titular otos. Daniil Kvyat lost his place at the AlphaTauri occupied in 2020 and will now be the reserve driver for the French team.
The Alpine structure also presents news in relation to the Renault Renault last year. Davide Brivio (ex-Suzuki in MotoGP) is the sporting director, Laurent Rossi is the CEO of Alpine and Marcin Budkowski is the executive director.
The Formula 1 World Championship starts on the weekend of the 28th of this month with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
