Entire police unit resigns ‘in disgust’ at suspension of officers who shoved elderly man to ground

All 57 members of a police tactical unit have actually resigned from the team in demonstration at the suspension of 2 colleagues who were recorded pushing a 75- year-old man to the ground.

2 members of the Buffalo Police Department’s Emergency situation Action Team were suspended on Thursday after a regional radio station launched video of the event including the protester.

However Buffalo Police Benevolent Association President John Evans stated set were merely “following orders”.

“Our position is these officers were simply following orders from Deputy Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia to clear the square,” he informed The Buffalo News.
