Elon Musk sells home for $29 m after vowing to sell ‘nearly all physical ownerships’
Elon Musk has actually offered among his houses for $29 m (₤235 m), according to reports.
The Tesla president offered the home, which remains in the Bel Air location of Los Angeles, to a business connected to Chinese billionaire William Ding, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Mr Ding is the creator and president of online gaming company NetEase Inc.
Musk informed his 36.1 million Twitter followers last month that he was offering the house, composing: “I am selling almost all physical possessions. Will own no house.”
He added: “Just one stipulation on sale: I own Gene Wilder’s old house. It cannot be torn down or lose any its soul.”
Musk informed podcast The Joe Rogan Experience in May: “I think possessions kind of weigh you down. They’re kind of an attack factor. People say: ‘Hey, billionaire, you got all this stuff’. Well, now I don’t have all this stuff. Now what are you going to do?”
Musk described that he purchased the Wilder home in 2013 since it was throughout the street from his “main” home and the preliminary strategy was to destroy it to give way for a bigger, modern-day estate. “I was, like, I think I’ll buy it and preserve the spirit of Gene Wilder,” he stated.
It was not clear whether the house offered was the Wilder one or Musk’s main home throughout the roadway.
At the time he revealed his intent to sell his homes, Musk was looking for a combined $395 m (₤32 m) for his Bel Air homes, according to the Hollywood Press Reporter.
