Edmen Shahbazyan discussed the long layoff and the DWCS prior to his UFC Vegas 5 main event.

Edmen Shahabazyan is all set for his main event bout versus Derek Brunson at UFC Vegas 5. The 22- year-old will be making his first look as a UFC headliner and all eyes will be seeing. This battle with Brunson was a very long time in the making, the 2 were first arranged to fulfill back in March, prior to being pressed to April and after that being held off due to the coronavirus. Now happening on Aug. 1, Shahbazyan is totally prepared to get this match over with.

“I didn’t think it would take this long but I think it’s for the better because I’m even more prepared for him,” Shahbazyan informed FanSided. “I got a long two and a half training camps so I’m more than ready. There were other offers but then they came back with Brunson again.”

The battle was initially the co-main event however when the main event was held off, they got the call-up. The past 3 bouts in the UFC for Shahbazayan have actually begun the prelims and this is his first headlining battle.

“I’m excited, I’m the main event,” Shahbazyan stated. “This is my first UFC (main) event and that was something I dreamed about as a kid, so to be actually doing it is amazing and I just want to give a good performance and go out there and shine. I like pressure, extra pressure, or anything like that, I thrive off of the pressure.”

Shahbazyan started his UFC run as a candidate on the Dana White ContenderSeries He won his battle and acquired a UFC agreement which he has actually reconciled his 4 straight wins and now a headliner area. When asked if he had any advice for future fighters on the show, Shahbazyan was delighted to provide some assistance.

“It’s a big moment, it’s your time to shine,” Shahbazyan stated. “You have to go out there and perform. You don’t have to be so nervous about it just go out there and perform. Performance is the key on the Contender Series and in all fights. You train hard and work hard and dream big. Always stay active, stay in the gym, and always try to keep improving yourself. You should work towards being a better fighter every day.”

Shahbazyan’s big minute to shine will be on Saturday night in the UFC Peak arena. As a young and upcoming star, Shahbazyan has a bright future ahead of him and big imagine his own.

“I’m young, I do want to be the youngest champion but I’m going to take it fight by fight,” Shahbazyan stated.
