Cynthia pleads court for dismissal of application of Qazaf against her
ISLAMABAD: American blog writer Cynthia D Ritchie on Tuesday submitted a fresh plea in the court for dismissal of a petition submitted by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Rehman Malik against her for registration of a case under Qazaf (Hadood Regulation).
The counsel for Ritchie submitted the petition here in the court of District and Sessions Judge and pleaded that petition against his customer for registration of case under Qazaf was non maintainable.
He pleaded that plaintiff in such case was not a ‘Mohsin’ under Hadood Regulation and kept that just ‘Mohsin’ can submit a case under ‘Qazaf’.
The counsel Abdul Rehman Bajwa on behalf of Rehman Malik pleaded the court that Cynthia was publishing bad posts at social media against Malik regardless of the court orders.
He pleaded that a contempt of court case may be signed up against the American blog writer too for breaking the court orders.
The judge asked Cythia either she was dealing with any visa problem in Pakistan which she responded that visa was not a problem for her.
The court after listening to preliminary arguments bought to finish arguments at such plea in the next hearing and later on repaired it for August 11.
