Chelsea FC's electrical training with the Ioniq 45

Hyundai presented its new electric vehicle Ioniq 5 last week – which you can find out about in detail here – and the promotion of the launch went through the Chelsea football club’s training ground with the first example on British soil.

One of the characteristics of the Ioniq 5 is its possibility of being also a source of electrical energy, either internally – for devices such as computers, for example – or externally to charge, also for example, electric scooters .

In this promotional action, four Chelsea FC footballers tested the V2L (Vehicle to Load) function with 3.6 kWh of power and connected the automatic ball launchers to the Ioniq 5 and put themselves to the test .

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, defender Ben Chilwell and striker Olivier Giroud get on well with the first ‘pressure’ they are subjected to, but when the intensity increases, the electrical capabilities of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 seem to be sufficient to win this ‘game’ …
