National Basketball Association (NBA) Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle has commented on leaving Kristaps Porziņģis aside in the Houston Rockets

It has already been reported that last night the Mavericks conceded to the Rockets, represented by Rodion Kuruc, with 108: 133 without Porziņģis, who was given rest. It was the first game released for a Latvian since January 13, when he returned to the field. In each of the previous four matches, he scored at least 20 points.

“Kristaps plays incredibly well, but for him it would be the seventh game 11 days. We feel he has to stay aside tonight. We discussed this a lot and that was one of the reasons why he played continuously before. It should be noted that his rehabilitation has been excellent and everything is very good.

Of course, he looked great in a game against San Antonio’s Spurs, but we need to look at the situation more broadly, also in the long term, not just in the short term. Playing without Porziņģis is a big challenge, but now it’s right for him and the team, “Karlails was quoted on the Mavericks website.

Porziņģis has played in six matches on the pitch this season, marking an average of 20.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists. With eight wins in 16 games, Dallas takes eighth place in the Western Conference.
