The planned takeover of ARM by Nvidia is currently being examined internationally by antitrust authorities. Several US tech companies have now lodged complaints.

The criticism of Nvidia’s planned takeover of the British chip designer ARM has significant supporters. Google, Microsoft and Qualcomm, among others, fear that the deal would jeopardize competition in their industry. Bloomberg learned this from internal sources.

Complaint to the antitrust authorities

The companies have complained to the US antitrust authorities. The is currently checking the takeover. In addition to the USA, the competition watchdogs in the European Union, China and Great Britain also have to agree.

The previous owner Softbank and Nvidia announced the deal with a volume of around 40 billion dollars in September.

Huawei and other Chinese companies had already filed a complaint with the Chinese antitrust authorities because they feared they would be cut off from the ARM technology
