Alfa Romeo, DS and Lancia will develop new models together
First models of Stellantis premium brands are scheduled for 2024
A Stellantis , the new automotive group that merged PSA and FCA, is already working on new models for the three premium brands, Alfa Romeo, DS and Lancia, which can reach the market in 2024.
The new models will share engines and other superior features, although not much detail has been revealed.
“We are working with our Italian colleagues on specific modules, engines and resources to differentiate premium brands, Alfa Romeo, DS and Lancia from conventional brands” , stressed Marion David, DS product director, in an interview with Automotive News Europe.
At DS the plan announced in 2017 to launch a new model per year until 2023 remains, but Marion David said that after that date the focus will be on the synergies that the new group intends to achieve as part of the merger between PSA and FCA.
“The cars that are being developed will continue and will be launched. The new models of the premium brands will appear in 2024 or 2025 ” , underlined Marion David.
This redesign of Stellantis’ premium brands could provide a new lease of life for Lancia and Alfa Romeo, the latter of which will see its range enhanced with the arrival of Tonale , an SUV smaller than the Stelvio, which is expected to hit the market this year.
