The project of the Faculty of Informatics of Eötvös Loránd University supporting complex educational and research goals ended with a successful professional achievement. As part of the Astor Physics sub-project, a state-of-the-art satellite earth station was built in Szombathely at the Gotthard Observatory, which will be able to receive data from the so-called CubeSat satellites launched into space for scientific purposes and to control the satellites on the ground.

The aim of the development project is to meet the technical and IT specialist needs of the Szombathely region, on the one hand, and to implement innovative research sub-projects, on the other. , which are based on domestic and international cooperation. It also had the explicit aim of providing new methods and tools in the field of informatics, natural sciences and social sciences to address unresolved issues. The project, which runs from 2017 to 2021, was implemented with the support of the European Union and co-financed by the European Social Fund from more than HUF 330 million
